Carbon Filters Taste and Odour Removal

Carbon filters are available in a range of lengths and diameters. Most standard size carbon filters are the DOE double open end type with a rubber seal at each end and are 2.5” in diameter which is around 70mm. The 2.5” filters are available in a range of lengths from 5”and 9″ with the most common standard size being 10”, also available are 20”.
Larger Jumbo big blue carbon filters are called 4.5” diameter filters and measure around 115mm in diameter. The most common size in the Jumbo 4.5” filters are 10” around 248mm long or 20” around 508mm long.
Carbon filters are available in a range of micron ratings. The lower the micron rating the finer the filtration will be.
The main types of carbon filters are carbon Block, GAC granular carbon or charcoal. There are also specially type filters that have extra media to remove or reduce scale build up, Lead, Sulphur and many more contaminates from your water.
Carbon filters are mainly used to remove bad taste and odours which can be caused by Chlorine and chemicals added to water supplies or problems in rain water stored in tanks.
Some filters have a unique end caps or non standard sizes like sure seal or screw in filters.
