Description

Single High Flow under sink water filter system for tank water. Includes a premium quality USA-made QMP water filter housing, 1/2″ braided lines, and the filter of your choice.

This compact unit comes with everything you need to dramatically improved the taste and odour of your tank water. Reduces a wide range of contaminants including sediment, dirt, algae, slime, chemicals from overspray.

Designed to connect to standard 1/2″ fittings, which are found in most Australian kitchens. Other fittings are available to suit other types of plumbing.

High flow units can handle the high flow rates from mixer taps and are more resilient to sediment. Instalation is simple and most homeowners can complete it without the need for a plumber.

Also useful for commercial kitchens, soft drink dispensers and ice makers in bars at clubs and pubs. Compact size makes it suitable for some caravans and RVs.

Filter options use silver impregnated carbon which is bacteriostatic. This reduces the risk of bacteria growing inside the carbon itself. Please note: it will not stop bacteria from flowing through the filter, so if bacteria is of concern contact us for information on UV sterilisation.

Several filter options available and a ‘no filter’ option if you have another filter option in mind. Will suit any standard 10″ x 2.5″ filter so there are plenty of options available. Uses standard non-proprietary 10″ x 2.5″ filters which are easy to find.

Installation Guide

The filters are inside the filter housings.

  1. Place an old towel on the base of the cupboard to wipe up any water.
  2. Identify the cold water line leading to your sink.
  3. Turn off the cold water supply, release the water pressure in the line by turning on the cold
tap, undo the existing cold water hose from the wall or tap under the sink and fit to the
hose from the inlet side of the new system into cold water supply.
  4. Reconnect the existing braided line from the sink tap to the hose on the outlet side of the
filter system using the brass joining nipple supplied. Most braided lines have a rubber
olive seal inside the female ends and do not require thread tape – apply thread tape to
    joins if no rubber olive
  5. Turn on the cold water sink tap and leave on.
  6. Turn on the water supply tap and flush the new filters for 3 – 4 minutes, turn off and on the
sink tap to let air or fines out of the system.
  7. Turn off the sink tap and check for leaks.

Installation notes:

  • Although we thread tape the nipple fittings which go into the water filter housing, they may be knocked during transit which can break their thread tape seal.  If this occurs, re-application of thread tape may be required.
  • A pressure limiting valve must be installed if pressure ever exceeds 550kpa

Filter Changing

  • As the filters are so fine you may have some air bubbles in the water for a few days, this
    will go away.
  • The main thing to remember when changing filters is to turn off the water supply tap and turn on the sink
tap to release the water pressure.
  • When turning the water back on make sure the tap on
the sink is open otherwise air will get trapped in the filters for a few days, this doesn’t affect
the water quality but the water may appear cloudy from air bubbles.
  • Always lubricate the housing O-rings with a silicon based lubricant – or use some
vegetable or cooking oil – do not use petroleum based lubricants that may affect rubber O-rings.
  • Tighten the housing sumps by hand only – the spanner is used to undo the housing sumps
as they can get tight after use.

Recommended replacement of filters 6-12 months depending on water quality and usage.

A pressure limiting valve is recommend to protect the system in high pressure areas.
