New Installation
- Do not install in direct sunlight.
- Mount the system a minimum of 100mm off the ground to allow the removal of filters.
- Check flow direction which is marked on top of the system.
- If on Mains Water supply it is recommended to have a PLV (pressure limiting valve) fitted before the system.
- If you are using a pressure pump to supply the water, a PLV may still be required.
- After installing make sure to flush the new filters for 5 – 10 litres by opening the first tap after the filter system or use the Sump Flushing method. See flushing instructions below.
Flushing new filters – Twin System Sump Flushing Method
- Turn off water supply.
- Release pressure from system by either depressing Pressure Relief Button on head (if installed), or opening 1st tap after system.
- Undo both filter sumps, remove and discard old filters then clean inside of sumps and lubricate o-rings.
- Place new Carbon Filter into sump and install into the Sediment First Stage of your twin filter housing, leaving the second stage empty and without the sump attached.
- Place a bucket (minimum 4L capacity) underneath second stage to catch flushed waste water.
- Slowly turn on water supply and flush until bucket fills and water runs clear of fines – repeat if necessary.
- Turn off water supply again.
- Undo freshly flushed carbon filter and insert new sediment filter into first stage and re-insert carbon filter into second stage.
- Hand tighten sumps only – do not use Sump Spanner to tighten, use for undoing only.
- Slowly turn on water supply again – you may still have some air bubbles, this should disperse within a few hours or days.
- Check system for leaks around sump seals and fittings.
You have finished flushing the new filters in your system.
Cleaning and opening the filter system
- Turn off the water supply to the system, release the water pressure in the pipes by opening the first tap after the filters and leave it turned on.
- Use the housing spanner to undo the sumps, turning from RIGHT to LEFT.
- Remove the dirty filters and using a bottle brush, clean housing sumps and head, then rinse with clean water.
- Using a clean cloth or paper towel, wipe around the o-ring seal and where it seats. Before replacing the o-ring, use a small amount of food grade silicone grease to keep the o-ring supple and to help it seal (vegetable or cooking oil will do the same job – do not use petroleum based lubricants).
Only hand tighten the housing sumps – do not use the spanner – then wipe dry with a clean cloth.
Replacement Filters
The canister in stage II (carbon filter) of this system can be reused and refilled:

Stage II 2045-2kgKDF85/ORC Refillable Catalytic Carbon Media Canister Filter
Stage layers from base to top:
- Bottom separator pad
- 2kg KDF85
- Separator pad
- 1.6 kg ORC Catalytic Cabon media
- Top separator pad
Wash sediment filter with hose every 2 – 3 months or whenever flow is restricted.
Replace the carbon at 6 – 12 months as required.
WARNINGS
- Do not install on line pressure above 125 psi.
- Do not install in direct sunlight or next to sources of heat.
- Protect from freezing.
- Installation must comply with local plumbing codes.
- Use of Parallel Thread fittings and/or Liquid Thread Sealant will VOID warranty
